PDF knitting pattern – Social Construct cowl

Description
Gender and especially the gender binary are a social construct – one which harms many people who don’t fit into this binary. The Social Construct cowl is meant to be worn by anyone of any gender or age – as neither clothes and accessories nor colours should have a gender and they should be enjoyed by anyone who likes the look of them.
I started with a ribbed brim in blue, then for the main part, the blue is mixed with light pink in half linen stitch, and the top ribbing is worked in pink – an intentional mix of colours that are traditionally seen as “boy” and “girl” colours. Of course it will work with any two colours of your choice.
Sizes go from child to adult large, so you can challenge social norms about gender at every age.
Make the world more colourful, one cowl at a time!
This is a companion pattern to the Social Construct hat.
