PDF knitting pattern – Turn Around cowl
As much as I love big scarves, sometimes, a light, soft and squishy neckwarmer is just what I need. That’s why I worked this design in fingering weight yarn with an easy eyelet pattern.
Description
As much as I love big scarves, sometimes, a light, soft and squishy neckwarmer is just what I need. That’s why I worked this design in fingering weight yarn with an easy eyelet pattern.
The eyelets spiral around and around, making solid, variegated and gradient yarns look their best while being easy to knit. The simplicity of this pattern makes it great for mindless knitting or as a starting point for lace knitting – to dip your toes in without too much going on in the pattern.
Because the pattern spirals seamlessly around, the cowl can be made to basically any height, depending on your preferences or the available amount of yarn.
Materials:
3.5 mm/US 4 knitting needles, either a set of dpns, a short circular or a circular long enough for magic loop – whatever your preferred method for knitting in the round.
Fingering weight yarn, 310 m/340 yds.
Sample: Lilu’s Märchengarne cotton gradient, colourway Zerberus, 100 g/380 m.
Stitch marker to mark beginning of the round.
Gauge:
24 sts and 25 rows = 10 cm/4” in stitch pattern, lightly blocked.
Gauge is not crucial here, but it might affect the size of your finished cowl and how much yarn you need.
Size:
28 cm/11” wide and 58.5 cm/23” high
Pattern is available in German and English
