A simple pattern for all those guitar playing or music loving men (and women, if your hands are not too small) out there. Just plain stockinette, with a subtle guitar pattern on the back of the hand.
Materials needed:
About 250 โ 350 meters of sock yarn (fingering weight) โ solid or semi-solid will work best to
show the pattern
Set of 5 dpns in US size 1 ยฝ /2.5 mm (or size needed to obtain gauge) for knitting in the
round.
The pattern is written for dpns, but you can just as well use two circulars or magic loop,
whatever method for knitting in the round you prefer.
Tapestry needle
2 stitch markers or pieces of yarn in contrasting colour
stitch holder or length of waste yarn
Sizes:
Men S/M (L), hand circumference 21-22 cm/ 8.5″ (23-24 cm/ 9″)
Instructions for bigger size in parentheses
Gauge:
36 sts = 4โ / 10 cm
Difficulty:
You need to be able to knit in the round, knit, purl and make increases. Guitar pattern is chart only
Low vision version is available too, with font Arial, size 24, no charts, fully written instructions, no italics, all black text.
